I lost a bunch of files because of my delete-button-happy-fingers. And these files were important work that I had worked on for a long time. All I had to refer to were saved images but I needed the raw, editable files. I called my mom, had her set up the iPad so I could see the desktop back home and instructed her on what to click and where to look for the files.

They were gone.

I spent about half an hour crying before I realised that the only option I really had at this point was to start from scratch and make everything back using the images as reference points. It has been a taxing 6 hours but I managed to replicate (and even improve) the work. I am exhausted, it is 4am but I am amazed at the resilience of the human mind when it’s desperate.

KEY POINT here: BACK-UP your files properly. Don’t just assume you did it correctly. There is nothing wrong with keeping excess files because who knows when you’ll need it.

Okay, I’m going to crash now. Good morning and good night.
