Here’s a nice quote for you (in case you can’t really see the words on the image above. I made that, by the way. yes yes this is me gloating):
All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances.
As some of you may know, House M.D. ended on Monday (21/5/2012) with a sorta happy ending. Am I a huge House fan? Not really but I was sad to see it end. Is this post about House? No. It’s about something brought on by it.
I was watching “Swan Song”, which was basically Hugh Laurie’s ode to the show (It was basically a behind the scenes look of the show) when my mom said, ‘you know, life is a stage. And we all really are actors. But unlike TV shows or movies, we choose our own lines and our own paths. But it all ends.”
And that’s true. If you think about, Shakespeare was right hundreds of years ago. Life is a big production that goes on for what seems like forever. We choose what we want to say, we choose where we want to go. At a different point in time we’re the villain and at others we’re the protagonist. Yet, the curtain falls after the final bow. The decision on who we want to leave the world as is ultimately, up to us.
Here’s my favourite quote from Shakespeare:
To thine ownself be true,
and it must follow as the night the day;
thou canst not then be false to any man.
